A Reason to Get up Early

Truly a bountiful basket!
    Ok, I admit it.  I have a new addiction.  You know it is serious when it actually gets me out of bed every Saturday morning at the unholy hour of 6:30 AM with a smile on my face.  I know!  Shocker, huh?  Its called Bountiful Basket, and, seriously, it is like Christmas morning every Saturday. I love it!  The simplicity of it all is great.  On Tuesday you go to the website and sign up for a basket- (it only costs $15).  Then Saturday morning at 7:15 we just show up at the local park and pick up our amazing HUGE basket of fresh fruits and veggies..  Awesome.  The funnest thing is that you never know what you're going to get!  But, its gonna be a bargain.  We've been doing it for a couple of months now and have gotten everything from fresh corn (YUM) & baby Portobello mushrooms to melons & kiwis.  It has all been great.. ok, except for the okra.  I mean, does anyone really like okra??  We couldn't even give that stuff away.  Anyway, it is great fun.  And, a lovely BONUS is that we can usually catch a garage sale or two on the way home!  Win/win!!

    Great post!! it is a good time and we have to learn how to deal with some out-of-the-ordinary things. Pretty exciting.

    It's so nice to have something to look forward to like that. I wish my husband would become more converted to vegetables...Oh well, it's fun to live vicariously through you.

    Guess what...they just started this. I get my first basket tomorrow! Whoooooo hoooo! They are having some glitches on knowing the arrival since this is the first time they are doing it here...but I am sooo excited!
