Thanksgiving Point.. BRRR

We had such a great time in Utah this week!  But, it sure was a temperature change for us. Arizona is well on its way to summer these days.. hitting the mid 90s steadily- in fact, the night before we left it was so warm that we actually slept with the AC on.  We left early Wednesday morning- around Flagstaff the wind was really kicking up and, by the time we hit Provo, it was snowing!  And, it stayed cold and stormy the whole time we were there.  Yeah, quite a difference.  But, it was actually kind of nice in some ways.  For instance, it was the first time we had worn coats, had a fire in a fireplace or seen snow for a couple of years.  And, it was pure luxury to sleep with a blanket tucked under our chins again.  I'm a big fan of snow.. as long as I can sit warm and cozy inside and watch it come down.  Its not quite as much fun to be out in it with the wind blowing like it was the day we went to Thanksgiving Point.  (That is not a cell phone I have up to my ear) Believe me, it was plain cold!  Ok.  I'm a wuss.  I admit it.
However, never let it be said the Peck Family will let a little thing like wind and snow cheat us out of a fun outing together. Wayne took the day off work and Maria and Max drove down for the occasion. Admittedly, we did decide to bag the tulip festival but we were definitely game for the 'Farm Town' at Thanksgiving Point.  It is kind of a fun combination of petting zoo and Children's Museum.  We got to see baby animals- ducklings, colts, goats and chicks. Pony rides were on the agenda as well as grooming the ponies after-wards. A couple of the kids even got to feed a baby goat from a bottle.  (Boy, you should have seen his tail go!)  There was also a fun hands-on learning center about the process of getting food from the farm to the dinner plate and some toys and puzzles as well.  Did I mention we had a lot of fun?

A yummy lunch at Taco Bell finished off the kid's part of the day.  Later that evening Nate joined us for an 'Adults Only' date night to the Cheesecake Factory.
