Looking Busy.

I'm sitting here at the office on a Tuesday morning wondering what to do with myself.  I only had a couple of referrals today-.  sigh.  Normally, I stay home on Tuesdays, (typically slow days) and just use my cell phone and laptop.  But, today we have 15 new missionaries coming in and I get to go help orient them in a few hours.  They come to the the mission home straight from the airport and it is so fun to be there to welcome them.  They are so cute- all shiny with that MTC  instilled Spirit, bubbling over with enthusiasm and excitement  (OK, a little nervous too).  Its one of my favorite times in the mission.  But, in the meantime... what to do???

This is what our backyard looks like when it rains.. We get a regular little lake going.

Well, my poor little blog is way overdue for an update... Shall we start with the weather?  (how cliche is that??  LOL)  I guess the big news is RAIN.. lots of it. This has been a really wet couple of weeks. And, its supposed to rain some more today. (There have been times when I've wanted to check to make sure there was no ark building going on in SLC!)   There is good news and bad news- The weather forecasters say our ground is now saturated -(good news)-  and there could be a danger of flash floods with this new storm -(bad news).  Anyway, the plant life is loving it.. everything is all green and happy.  However, I'm afraid I've turned into an Arizona wimp. Associated with rain are cold fronts.  Temps have been in the high 40s- low 50s and I have been living in sweaters and double blankets on the bed.  Sheesh.  That's SHIRT-SLEEVE weather in Utah!

  1. Love the lake in the backyard. Looks fun. To bad there are no little ones there to play in it. :)

  2. I'm with you, Mom. It's COLD. Brrrr. Rain, rain, go away! But, your herbs must be loving it. Hope you had a fun day in orientation with the new, shiny missionaries. :)

  3. The other part of the bad news is that there are tons of weed making debut. The good news is that it is so wet they are easy to pull (if it ever stops raining long enough)
